“White Hairy Silver Needles” – the finest and most famous Chinese white tea, considered among the very best of Chinese teas.
It first appeared around 1796. This tea is made from young, richly hairy, large, and strong tips of the Fu Ding Da Bai Cha cultivar. Harvesting takes place only during a very short period in spring and only in good weather.
Authentic Bai Hao Yin Zhen embodies all four treasures of Chinese tea—leaf shape, infusion color, taste, and aroma—perfectly. The undeveloped buds are uniform in size and hairy like willow shoots. The dry leaves’ aroma carries sweet floral pollen notes, the freshness of mountain breeze, and the sweetness of morning dew. The infusion is almond-yellow to orange in color. The taste is clean, sweet, light and delicate with a subtle springtime energy.
