Three-legged Money Frog

​​Jin Chan (金蟾), also known as Chan Chu (蟾蜍), meaning “Golden Toad,” or Money Frog in English, is a popular Feng Shui symbol of prosperity and abundance. This three-legged toad is traditionally regarded as an auspicious talisman associated with wealth and good fortune.

​​According to legend, this mythical creature appears during the full moon near homes or businesses that are about to receive good news, usually related to wealth and financial success. One Chinese legend tells that the Golden Toad was once the greedy wife of one of the Eight Immortals (Ba Xian), who was transformed into a toad as punishment for stealing the Peaches of Immortality (Xian Tao), the legendary fruit consumed by immortals and enlightened beings.
