Meng Ku is an area in Lincang County, renowned for tea plants of the species Camellia sinensis var. assamica (large-leaf tea). Tea trees from Bing Dao are regarded as “true representatives of Yunnan’s large-leaf variety.” They grow high in the mountains, and some of the trees are several hundred years old.
