Meng Ku Bing Dao 2024 Dashu sheng Mao Cha 25g

SKU: D475
Meng Ku is an area in Lincang County, renowned for tea plants of the species Camellia sinensis var. assamica (large-leaf tea). It is home to Bing Dao, a small yet exceptionally famous village that ranks among the most highly respected pu-erh origins in the world. Tea trees from Bing Dao are regarded as “true representatives of Yunnan’s large-leaf variety.” They grow high in the mountains, and some of the trees are several hundred years old. Tea produced from these trees is highly prized for its unique qualities. The Shuangjiang County, to which Bing Dao belongs, is also one of the earliest regions where this type of tea plant began to be cultivated deliberately. The leaves used for this tea come from old trees in this locality, giving them great potential for long-term aging. They are a deep dark green to almost black in color, interwoven in places with fine yellow veins typical of the region. The leaves are thick and fleshy, yet they retain delicacy and brittleness. The aroma is long-lasting, gentle, light, and elegant, with pronounced notes of orchid, honey, and flowers. In fresh teas, including this one, a distinctive accent of wild orchid honey is especially evident. The liquor is clear and golden, with an oily sheen. The taste is full, complex, clean, round, and smooth, marked by the characteristic Meng Ku bitterness that quickly transforms into sweetness. The aftertaste is clean, sweet, and persistent, with sweetness lingering on the palate long after the cup is finished. The tea withstands a large number of infusions. This tea is an ideal choice for lovers of high-quality sheng pu-erh who appreciate the unique balance of strength and finesse, along with the signature bitter notes that evolve into a long-lasting sweetness.
