About
Region: Dayaoshan core area, Guangxi, China, at 1,100 metres altitude.
Dayaoshan is located in central Guangxi and is home to one of the best‑preserved primeval forests in southern China. This tea garden sits at the heart of this mountainous region, surrounded by over 90% forest cover. The ecosystem is pristine and intact. The terrain is steep, with deep valleys, year‑round cloud and mist, abundant rainfall, and consistently high humidity.
There are no industrial areas or towns near the garden. The air is exceptionally clean, and the tea is irrigated only by unpolluted mountain springs and streams. The soil is fertile, well‑drained mountain yellow loam, rich in organic matter and trace elements.
Tea Tasting
Aroma:
A clear, prominent hao (fuzz/fresh) fragrance. When brewed, rich fruit and floral notes emerge, accompanied by a subtle nuttiness and a gentle, fresh herbaceous breeze. The layers are harmonious and complex.
Mouthfeel:
A soft, gentle sweetness at first sip. The overall taste is light, elegant, and smooth. Obvious herbaceous character, with nutty and delicate fruity undertones. The tea is sweet and smooth, with no bitterness or astringency. It feels clean and refreshing, leaving a pure, crisp aftertaste.
Liquor Color:
Craftsmanship
Plucking → Spreading (withering) → Fixing (kill‑green) → Rolling → Bake‑drying → Air selection & sieving → Final firing
The leaves are not oxidised, maximising the retention of natural compounds. The result is a "clear liquor, green leaf" tea with a hao fragrance and fruity‑floral sweetness.
Storage Recommendations
Container: Airtight tin, aluminium foil bag, dark glass jar, or ceramic pot.
Environment: Cool (below 20°C / 68°F), dry (relative humidity <40%), away from light and strong odors (keep away from spices, coffee, cosmetics, etc.).
Shelf life: Green tea is best consumed fresh, within 6–12 months. For longer storage, keep sealed in a refrigerator (0–5°C / 32–41°F). After removing from the fridge, let the package return to room temperature before opening to avoid condensation.
Note: Reseal immediately after each use to prevent absorbing moisture or odors.
