Dian Hong Mao Feng ('Downy tips from Yunnan') comes from one of the finest cultivated varieties, Yunkang 10. The amber-colored infusion is enriched with freely floating tip hairs (trichomes), which give the tea sweetness, roundness, and body. Upon smelling, notes of dried apricots and forest honey can be recognized.
The tea captivates with its delicate, sweet fruity flavor with a woody tone and a gentle aftertaste. It is particularly suitable for sipping during the colder months of the year thanks to its warming energy. The leaves and tips, in a 2:1 ratio, have a uniform brown-orange color, indicating a high-quality oxidation process. They can be steeped repeatedly, yielding multiple flavorful infusions.
