Long Jing Shi Feng

SKU: E509
“Dragon Well from Lion Peak” — According to traditional Chinese criteria, a true Long Jing should possess four qualities (or “four treasures”): bright green color, rich aroma, full-bodied taste, and a beautiful leaf shape. Our Shi Feng exhibits all of these qualities abundantly. To fully enjoy not only the flavor but also the appearance of this renowned tea, we recommend brewing it in a glass teapot or a tall glass. The tea should be infused with water at around 80–85 °C. Handle the leaves gently and it is best to brew them lightly to preserve their delicate, intense aroma. Learn more

Lung Ching, also known as Long Jing 龙井, is a world-famous and widely recognized tea, known for its unmistakable appearance. During one of the early steps in processing (Sha Qing), the tea leaves are hand-flattened and shaped in woks heated from below with wood. This unique method gives the tea its characteristic flat leaves. Dragon Well originates from Long Jing village (hence the name) in Zhejiang Province, from the West Lake (Xi Hu) area. Shi Feng 狮峰, or Lion Peak, refers to teas from the area around the mountain of the same name, or to the tea’s quality/class (see the linked article above for more details).
